BDO Foundation, Knowledge Channel Foundation and Huawei PH partnership: making math more interesting for students
As part of efforts to help improve basic education, BDO Foundation, Knowledge Channel Foundation, and Huawei Philippines have once again forged a partnership to continue an initiative designed to make the study of Mathematics more engaging for young learners.
In an event witnessed by officials of the Department of Education (DepEd), the partners signed a memorandum of agreement formalizing the commitment of BDO Foundation and Huawei Philippines to co-fund the development of a new batch of 10 curriculum-based video lessons on early numeracy, which can be used in teaching Mathematics to Grade 1 learners.
The agreement was signed by (from left) DepEd External Partnerships Service Director Margarita Consolacion Ballesteros, BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito and Trustee Ma. Corazon Mallillin, Knowledge Channel President and Executive Director Rina Lopez and Vice President and Director of Operations Edric Calma, and Huawei PH Public Affairs Manager Paulina Alberto.
Like the first set of five MathDali videos produced last year, the new ones will be developed by Knowledge Channel in consultation with DepEd.
The 10 new MathDali episodes will help students develop skills in areas such as number sense, number order, patterns, and simple math operations.
The learning resources will be distributed on Knowledge Channel’s on-air, online, and offline platforms, as well as the DepEd online learning portal, so that teachers can access them.
