MAKATI CITY, PHILIPPINES – Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) was recently recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC) for its significant contributions in the celebration of National Teachers’ Month (NTM) 2024. This was presented during the 44th NTMCC meeting on March 11, 2025. 

Rina Lopez, President and Executive Director of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), was among the first recipients of the Gawad Flora A. Ylagan Award for Eminent Women in Education, presented by the National Teachers College (NTC).

Reintroducing traditional Filipino games to a new generation, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and Unilever-Breeze concluded their first-ever EcoPlay for school year 2024-2025, engaging almost 150,000 learners, teachers, and parents across the Schools Division Offices (SDOs) of Marikina City, Quezon City, and Taguig-Pateros.

The Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), in partnership with the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE), has announced the launch of "Class Project," an intercollegiate mini-documentary competition inviting Filipino college students to explore the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the experiences of Filipino children.

The Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), in partnership with Sikat Solar Challenge Foundation, Inc. (Sikat), donated Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries (KCPMLs) to three schools in the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Rizal last January 11 at Sto. Niño Integrated School in Tanay, empowering 29 teachers and 614 learners. 

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), BDO Foundation and Huawei Philippines, launched ten new episodes of its innovative math series, “MathDali Grade 1” aimed at teaching basic numeracy skills. 

As we celebrate the holiday season and welcome the new year, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) stays committed in its mission to promote equal learning opportunities for Filipino children, bringing focus on Early Childhood Development (ECD), and forging partnerships to pave the way for a brighter future for our young learners.  

On its 25^th year of supporting education and early childhood development through curriculum-based broadcasting and training programs for educators and other care providers of children, and alongside the celebration of National Children’s Month (NCM), the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) is steadfast in its mission for the Filipino children. 

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) partnered once again with the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) for the 2024 Bálay Pinoy School Caravan in celebration of Filipino Values Month, which took place at Pedro Guevara Elementary School in Binondo on November 14, and Jose Rizal Elementary School in Pasay on November 15. 

On its 25th Anniversary, the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) conducted its free online Child Development Workers and Teachers’ (CDW/T) Conference on Early Childhood Development. The conference centered on the theme "Early Care Matters," as outlined by the Nurturing Care Framework. Over 3,000 CDW/Ts attended alongside teachers, parents, and care providers of children.

Last October 18, the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT) celebrated their 27th anniversary at the Manila Heritage Hotel by launching the Comprehensive Media Program for Children (CMPC) to ensure more informative and age-appropriate TV content for children. The new program was designed to unite content creators and stakeholders in a collaborative effort to promote and improve child-friendly media. As part of the celebration, the NCCT also formally recognized the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and other partner organizations for their dedication to producing child-friendly content. Knowledge Channel earned the Outstanding Commitment to Child-Friendly Content Standards award, while its two shows, MathDali and Puno Ng Buhay, were honored for their Exemplary Adherence to Child-Friendly Content Standards.

On October 9, 2024, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and the Department of Education (DepEd) formalized the renewal of their partnership by a ceremonial signing of a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), reinforcing their shared commitment to closing learning gaps and making quality education more accessible. Led by KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez and Education Secretary Sonny Angara, the new MOA will allow the two organizations to continue collaborating in the development of curriculum-based video lessons and other educational materials to enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) learning and Basic Education.
