EMAR Corp donates Gift of Knowledge
Another school in Lian, Batangas can now enjoy watching Knowledge Channel
Students and teachers in Luyahan Elementary School now have unlimited access to more than 1,000 educational videos thanks to the Gift of Knowledge (GOK) donation made by EMAR Corporation. GOK is a package of Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) which consists of a 40-inch SMART television installed with the Knowledge TV app and a SKYDirect. With Knowledge TV, teachers can browse, search, and play any Knowledge Channel video on-demand thanks to its new user-friendly interface. They can also watch Knowledge Channel shows on-air with the free SKYDirect connection.
In a turnover ceremony last January 10, KCFI President and Executive Director, Rina Lopez-Bautista shared the importance of developing the foundational skills in learning, specifically learning to read and count. Addressing the children, she said, “Magbasa kayo palagi, kasi ‘yan yung pundasyon talaga ng pag-aaral ninyo.” She also emphasized the importance of Math, a subject that many of the kids in the audience already liked. “Continue liking math—palagi kayong manood ng MathTinik, ng MathDali. Mag-practice nang mag-practice kayo ng addition, subtraction, multiplication, division…para kayo talagang maging magaling sa Math pati na rin sa pagbabasa.”
Joining Bautista in the turnover ceremony are officials from the Department of Education-Division of Batangas, Luyahan ES Principal Al Eusebio Jonson, and the donor’s family represented by Ms. Maria Teresa Del Rosario-Zeller.
KCFI is actively looking for sponsors and donors for the Gift of Knowledge package so more schools can enjoy the benefit of learning with multimedia. For interested donors, email liberty.reyes@knowledgechannel.org
