For a second year in a row, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) has once again participated in organizing the 2018 Southeast Asian Video Festival for Children (formerly the Southeast Asian Prix Jeunesse) held at the Manila Prince Hotel from November 22-24. All 12 of AnakTV’s member networks joined forces in mounting the momentous gathering dedicated to promoting child-friendly television programming in the region.
Knowledge Channel assisted as part of the Screening and Judging Committee of the festival which was able to successfully confer 14 awards for professional video makers, amateurs, and children. A media bar was also set up by KCFI to aid participants and judges in viewing the video entries. KCFI interns also helped out in the various event tasks, exposing them to regional trends in children’s media.
Ms. Doris Nuval, KCFI Head for School and Community Engagement, moderated for the workshops of Kirsten Schneid, Festival and Project Coordinator of the Prix Jeunesse Foundation in Munich, and Chhay Bora, Cambodian director of the film Lost Loves. Rina Lopez Bautista, KCFI President and Executive Director, also attended the opening ceremonies.
Knowledge Channel’s Salam was a finalist last year in the First southeast Asian Prix Jeunesse.
