KCFI, Rotary District 3830 Kick-off Teachers Month by Training Teachers in the New Normal
In celebration of National Teachers Month, more than a hundred teachers and principals were trained by Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and 6 participating Rotary Clubs from District 3830 last September 1-3, 2020.
The partnership brought an upgraded version of its flagship teacher training program Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP) now dubbed as Knowledge Channel: Teaching in the New Normal (KCTINN). The intensive three-day training that used to be carried out in various parts of the Philippines has fully migrated online since the pandemic.
With the help of Rotary Club of Makati Premier District (RCMPD), Rotary Club of Parañaque Metro, Rotary Club of Parañaque Midtown, Rotary Club of Sunvalley Sunrise, Rotary Club of Las Piñas, and Rotary Club of Makati Paseo de Magallanes, 9 beneficiary schools were instructed on delivering dynamic and creative strategies in order to engage their learners especially now that education is thriving towards the opening of classes in October.
Now more focused on understanding the context of learners and distance learning, KCTINN highlighted how teachers can still create positive learning experiences even without the regular classroom environment, encouraging support from parents in assisted instruction.
“This three-day training will give us a load if information and help us understand our learners as well as teachers in this new environment and learn creative methods for teaching,” Enrico Trinidad, President of Rotary Club of Makati Premier District stated.
“Ang Knowledge Channel at Rotary Club District 3830 ay sinigurado na itong Knowledge Channel Teaching in the New Normal ay may kaugnayan sa inyong sitwasyon ngayon’, Lopez-Bautista added.
This is the second training to be conducted by KCFI this quarantine period. The last was in July when KCFI returned virtually to MIndanao to train 98 schools in the Division of South Cotabato.
