KCFI’s Edric C. Calma: Advocates a Resilient Future through Education at the STARBOOKS Stakeholder’s Convention

BAGUIO CITY – The Saint Luis University, Navy Base Campus was abuzz with enthusiasm as esteemed education advocate, Mr. Edric C. Calma, the Director of Operations of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), graced the STARBOOKS Stakeholders’ Convention in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on August 2, 2023.

Mr. Calma’s keynote address, titled “Education, Resiliency with Growth Mindset and Knowledge Channel Resources,” struck a chord with the 280 stakeholders including the representatives of public and private schools within CAR and Region 3.

At the heart of his talk, Mr. Calma promoted the importance of educators adopting the growth mindset instead of the fixed mindset. “Embrace challenges, learn from criticism, and exercise your free will,” he exclaimed, inspiring the crowd to embrace a transformative outlook on education.

He stressed the significance of acknowledging the power of effort and of believing that everyone has the potential to achieve greatness. With that, he encouraged the attendees to “...always ask questions and be open to answering questions.”

Drawing attention to the glaring assessments on the nation’s educational situation, Mr. Calma also passionately highlighted KCFI’s initiative to tackle the learning crisis in the country head-on. Among the groundbreaking tools presented in KCFI’s arsenal are the engaging videos and interactive games designed to ignite the spark of curiosity and foster the love for learning in young minds. He further underscored the significance of quality education and how KCFI’s curriculum-based contents align with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) standards.
