Roll the Dice! Knowledge Channel airs newest game show with Marlo Mortel

With its first ever mobile game show, “Knowledge On the Go” is going places as it turns the spotlight on the channel’s most important audience – the learners.
Carrying an extra large dice and a backpack, host Marlo Mortel hops from one school to another and to other places to test the students’ knowledge on general topics.
The idea behind the game is to make learning more fun and exciting while instilling the value that it’s okay to make mistakes and eventually learn from them.
The “Boyfie ng Bayan” as fans fondly call him, who started his hosting stint in the morning show Umagang Kay Ganda expressed his excitement when he was offered the project as this is his first time to host an educational game show.
“Sobrang honored ako kasi s’yempre of all the many artists and hosts ako ang napili kahit na medyo baguhan pa ako when it comes to hosting and s’yempre ibang usapan pa kapag educational show at sa Knowledge Channel pa eh kasi may nire-represent ka,” said Marlo.
Marlo rose to fame when he was casted in the daytime drama Be Careful With My Heart alongside Janella Salvador on ABSCBN. This was followed by the succeeding teleserye, Oh! My G. In 2015, the Sunday noontime show ASAP launched Marlo as part of the boy group, Harana with Joseph Marco, Bryan Santos and Michael Pangilinan. Marlo has also released his single “M.O.O. (My One and Only)” which he wrote. The song made its way to local radio stations and music charts and even as soundtrack to the 2016 movie, Love is Blind.
With his constant interaction with students in shooting Knowledge on the Go, the 24-year old celebrity deems that the show is a medium to begin his advocacy for education. Currently, he is starting to post photos with accompanying trivia on his Instagram account (@marlomortelmusic_) with the hashtag KnowledgeOntheGo.
“Na-realize ko na maybe kaya ako napunta dito, pwede din akong pagkatiwalaan sa ganitong klaseng field. Since sobrang importante din ng education for me, maganda na maging advocate ng education lalo na sa mga kabataan. Kaya dapat nilang abangan ang Knowledge on the Go kasi hindi lang ‘to pambata,” he said. “Everyday is a new learning experience for us. Sana mas madami pa ang tumanggap nito at sana mas marami pa ang ma-reach nitong mga estudyante.”
Knowledge On the Go is shown thrice daily on Knowledge Channel at 7:30 am, 12:00 nn and 6:30 pm. Knowledge Channel is on ABS-CBN TVPlus, Sky Cable, Destiny Cable, and Sky Direct.
