Teachers Use Knowledge Channel for Distance Learning

Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries are helping teachers in their distance learning implementation.

In the first Kuwentong School at Home live event held last February 5, 11 teachers across the country have shared how the Portable Media Libraries (PML) they received from Knowledge Channel and It’s Showtime are helping them teach their learners. The PMLs, with over 1,500 learning materials and educational games, aim to aid the teachers in making distance learning more effective and engaging as part of Knowledge Channel’s #KuwentongSchoolatHome Campaign.

Aside from the portable media libraries, the teachers were featured during Team Vhong, Amy, and Jackie’s Magpasikat performance on It’s Showtime’s aired last October 31, 2020. The performance honored the teacher’s efforts in continuing to nurture the learners’ minds amidst the pandemic.

The Facebook Live session was attended by the 11 teachers who have received the Portable Media Libraries. They are Mylin Sarip and Ruvelyn Ayon from Las Pinas City, Lovely Aportadera from Sultan Kudarat, Eldie Pacho from Benguet, Abner Lomangaya and Hilda Aguila from Sorsogon, Joyces Berlanga from Rizal, Randy Silva and Juvy Anabo from Cabuyao, Laguna and Jonar Olicia and Daniel Nadela from Binan, Laguna.

Rina Lopez Bautista, President of Knowledge Channel also graced the event. Ipinakita niyo na walang imposible”, she shared as she empathized with the challenges faced by teachers. She further expressed her joy on how Knowledge Channel Foundation was able to help bridge the gap between teachers and learners at these times, “Masaya kaming maging kaagapay ninyong mga guro sa inyong pagtuturo sa mga bata para silay matuto.

The session ended with a video greeting from It’s Showtime hosts Amy Perez and Vhong Navarro wishing the teachers well and thanking them for their service to the Filipino children.
