KNOWLEDGE CHANNEL TEACHING IN THE NEW NORMAL
The sudden occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic has evidently affected many schools around the world. In the Philippines, basic education gradually took its time to adjust considering the country’s strict safety protocols. Knowledge Channel addressed these learning gaps, and as a result, innovations in teaching and learning were shared to cope with the ongoing educational scenario.
The Knowledge Channel Training in the New Normal (KCTINN) formerly called Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-Based Pedagogies (LEEP), is an intensive 3-day training on how to use and maximize our video lessons as key learning tools in the new normal. It aims to create and foster positive learning experiences even without face-to-face interactions and encourages support from the parents in assisted instruction.
Now that the KCTINN has consistently produced competent educators fit to teach in the new normal, KCFI will continue to produce videos that will provide adequate learning materials from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12, which will be used as an instrument towards the progressive adjustment of effective teaching in the New Normal.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The "KNOWLEDGE CHANNEL TEACHING IN THE NEW NORMAL" (KCTINN), is the only professional development program of its kind in the Philippines that brings together Knowledge Channel-prescribed and tested distance learning pedagogies and knowledge Channel's localized and contextualized multimedia learning resources. It is a three-day online training for teachers and principals, with synchronous sessions in the morning using google apps, and asynchronous sessions in the afternoon using Facebook messenger. Participant schools taking the program receive a Knowledge Channel's Portable Media Library of around 2,000 video lessons, educational games, and other learning resources.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the program, the participant-teachers and principals will:
Identify and contextualize distance learning pedagogies that teachers might have been known but may not have fully practiced.
Plan the use and integration into self-learning modules and weekly lessons plans of Knowledge Channel’s multimedia learning resources.
Familiarize with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) interim guidelines on assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes.
Contextualize whenever possible standard content of DepEd’s most essential learning competencies (MELC).
Create a weekly plan for engaging and capacitating parents so the latter may ably support their children as they learn at home.
Indicate willingness and interest to pursue the continuously emerging shifts in teaching and learning.
THEORY OF CHANGE
DESIGN
KCFI partners with various education stakeholders in conducting a training needs analysis among the targeted.

KCFI collaborates with school heads and teachers to monitor the utilization and integration of Knowledge Channel video materials and pedagogies in instruction.
RESULTS
In a year of implementation, KC TINN aims to achieve the following results:
Training Participants' Satisfaction - At least 95% satisfaction rating from training participants.
Learning - The increase from pretest to posttest is statistically different at a 0.05 level of significance per target group of participants (school heads, teachers, etc).
Output - At least 70% of the total number of schools were able to craft and submit exemplary weekly plans with evident integration of KC TINN pedagogies, KCFI video lessons, and other content.
Behavior Upon Monitoring - At least 75% utilization of key principles espoused in KCTINN.
Learning Outcomes - At least 75% of the students exhibit improvement of their performance evident in the quarterly performance tasks and written test scores.
