3,500 kids in Laguna receive brand new school bags

A total of 3,500 pupils from 18 public schools in Sta. Rosa, Laguna are now better equipped to go to school with the recent donation of “Gusto kong Mag-aral” school bags and school supplies from Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI).

The donation is part of KCFI’s “Basa Bilang Project” which aims to help Filipino children in primary grades confidently read and solve math problems and consequently “become independent learners, confident problem solvers, and critical thinkers by the end of Grade 3.”

The ceremonial turnover was held at the Sta. Rosa Elementary School Central II with representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd), Division of Sta. Rosa City and ALKFI.

The beneficiary schools are Santo Domingo Elementary School, Don Jose Elementary School, Malitlit Elementary School, Dita Elementary School, Dila Elementary School, Jose Zavalla Memorial Elementary School, Caingin Elementary School, Southville 4 Caingin Elementary School, Sinalhan Elementary School, Aplaya Elementary School, Santa Rosa ES Central I,  Santa Rosa ES Central II, Santa Rosa ES Central III, Tagapo Elementary School, Labas Elementary School, Macabling Elementary School, Balibago Elementary School and Pulong Sta. Cruz Elementary School.

The “Basa Bilang Project” plays an active part in championing the education of Filipino youth through its ongoing production of animated learning videos for Grades 1-3 in Filipino, English, and Math, based on DepEd’s textbooks. These videos will soon be distributed on Knowledge Channel’s various platforms on-air, online, and offline.
