The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) joined forces to conclude the month-long celebration of Filipino values through “Bálay Pinoy” at Saint Pedro Poveda College in Metro Manila on December 7.

The event marked the final destination of the Bálay Pinoy School Caravan, which traversed Oriental Mindoro (Luzon), Cebu (Visayas), and South Cotabato (Mindanao).

Bálay Pinoy is a flagship program of NCCA which aims to build a high-trust and resilient society by instilling twenty core Filipino values, as identified through its research with the National Economic Development Authority. These values include love for family and community, faith, attaining education, lifelong learning and adaptability, resilience, honesty and integrity, and peace and development, among others.

Key figures shared inspiring messages during the program, namely Ms. Renee Talavera, NCCA Head of the Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts Section; Mr. Edric Calma, KCFI Vice President and Director of Operations; and Ms. Rosalinda Y. Basas, President of Saint Pedro Poveda College.

The celebration also featured show-stopping performances by Angela Ken, singer of the heartfelt "Ako Naman Muna"; Maki, the musician behind hit song "Saan”; and Roppets Edutainment Production, which specializes in quality education and entertainment through storytelling with puppets and mascots.

In recognition of Saint Pedro Poveda College's contributions, the Knowledge Channel Foundation turned over a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library, an external hard drive containing over 1,500 video lessons, multimedia resources, and session guides aligned with the Department of Education's curriculum and essential learning competencies.

From earlier projects such as Wikaharian and Heneral Tuna to the recently concluded culmination of Balay Pinoy, the enduring partnership between the NCCA and the Knowledge Channel Foundation continues to exemplify their shared commitment to nurture happier and holistically developed Filipinos across the nation.
