Unwrapping the “Gift of Hope” with RCMW and KCFI! 

Celebrating this season of giving, the Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) and the Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) teamed up for the “Be the Gift of Hope” project, aiming to share the gift of learning with 28 schools across the nation! 

Recently, a Gift of Hope was turned over to Rosario Ocampo Elementary School (ROES) in Taytay, Rizal. RCMW and KCFI provided the school with three desktop computers and a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML), an external hard drive containing over 1,500 video lessons, multimedia resources, games, and session guides which are all aligned with the K-12 curriculum of the Department of Education (DepEd). 

The turnover ceremony was attended by key figures from both organizations, namely RCMW President, Mr. Juan Antonio “Dax” Carlos and his wife, Ms. Shiela Carlos; KCFI President and Executive Director, Ms. Rina Lopez; and, KCFI Vice President and Director of Operations, Mr. Edric Calma. 

“Every day we are faced with problems we need to solve. How can we best solve them? We need to think of our problems critically, solve them creatively, communicate and collaborate with others. All these you will gather as you teach with and learn with the Knowledge Channel. Learning with Knowledge Channel is a treasure that not only empowers your minds but ignites hope in you and every Filipino family,” shared Ms. Lopez in her keynote address, emphasizing how education can be a beacon of hope for every Filipino home. 

In his message, Mr. Carlos expressed his gratitude and detailed RCMW’s plans to help improve education and learning through providing KC PMLs to more schools and communities, strengthening the Club’s commitment to uplifting education nationwide. 

Sharing how the gift helped make learners’ wishes come true, ROES student David Izek Falcone voiced a message of gratitude, expressing how it will positively affect their learning. Also present at the ceremony were Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Rizal, Dr. Doris Estalilla; ROES Principal, Dr. Melanie Mesa; and ROES Assistant Principal, Ms. Rhea Tolentino.

Bagong regalo ngayong Pasko! “Gift of Hope”, inilunsad ng RCMW at KCFI

Ngayong panahon ng pagbibigay, nagkaisa ang Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) at Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) para sa “Be the Gift of Hope”, isang proyektong naglalayong magbahagi ng gift of learning sa 28 na paaralan sa buong bansa! 

Isang Gift of Hope ang ibinahagi sa Rosario Ocampo Elementary School (ROES) sa Taytay, Rizal. Ang RCMW at KCFI ay nagbigay sa paaralan ng tatlong desktop computers at ang Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML), isang external hard drive na naglalaman ng higit sa 1,500 video lessons, multimedia resources, games, at session guides na nakaayon sa K-12 curriculum ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd). 

Dumalo ang iba’t-ibang natatanging panauhin sa turnover ceremony – RCMW President, Mr. Juan Antonio “Dax” Carlos at ang kanyang maybahay, Ms. Shiela Carlos; KCFI President at Executive Director, Ms. Rina Lopez; at KCFI Vice President at Executive Director, Mr. Edric Calma. 

“Araw-araw, may mga problema tayong kailangang lutasin. Paano ba natin pinakamahusay na masosolusyunan ang mga ito? Kailangan nating mapanuring suriin ang mga problemang ito, mag-isip ng malikhaing mga solusyon, at makipag-ugnayan at makipag-tulungan sa iba. Lahat ng ito ay matutunan ninyo sa paggamit ng Knowledge Channel. Ang pag-aaral kasama ang Knowledge Channel ay hindi lang isang handog para bigyang lakas ang inyong isip, kundi nagbibigay din ng pag-asa sa inyo at sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” sabi ni Ms. Lopez sa kanyang keynote address na binigyang diin kung paano nagiging tanglaw ng pag-asa ang edukasyon para sa bawat Pilipinong tahanan. 

Sa kanyang mensahe, ipinaabot ni Mr. Carlos ang kanyang taos-pusong pasasalamat at idinetalye ang mga plano ng RCMW sa pagtulong sa pagpapabuti ng edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng pamamahagi ng KC PMLs sa mas marami pang mga paaralan at komunidad, bilang parte ng hangarin ng Club na mapaganda ang edukasyon sa buong bansa.
