‘Check My School’ app developer inks MOA with KCFI

Affiliated Network for Social Accountability in East Asia and the Pacific (ANSA-EAP) Foundation, Inc. implemented CheckMySchool App (CMS App) in 2011. A participatory monitoring initiative for the education sector in the Philippines, CMS App aims to continuously improve the quality of education services by bringing the participation of citizens and communities into the governance of public schools in the country.

In 2017, they came across a congested classroom where the teacher lectures over 60 students just outside their unfinished, 2-storey school building that had been abandoned by its contractor since 2014.
Thanks to the initiative and report made through the CMS app, the construction of the school building in Cagayan De Oro resumed, July this year.
Just imagine if CMS app will get a wider reach and is discovered by many, school buildings left unfinished will finally be polished.
And just like CMS App, Knowledge Channel shares the same advocacy to promote and implement quality education in the country. This is why on its 20th year, KCFI sealed a partnership deal with (ANSA-EAP) and through this cooperation, both organizations aim to embark on a partnership to develop and implement projects that will elevate the education in the Philippines.

Since 2011, CMS has been constructively engaging various stakeholders, particularly the Department of Education and the local government units, to improve the quality of educational services in schools. Showcased here are stories of significant change that happened through community participation in school improvements.
