DLSU Batch ’81 shares love through the Gift of Knowledge

BY JOYDIE BANARES

Members of the De La Salle University Alumni Batch ’81 showed their love last February 14, Valentine’s Day, by donating a Gift of Knowledge (GOK) package to Sta. Monica Elementary School in San Luis, Batangas. The package from Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) consists of a 40-inch Smart TV installed with the KnowledgeTV app allowing users to watch more than 1,000 educational videos even without an internet connection. Also included in the package was a SKYDirect connection so learners and teachers can also watch Knowledge Channel’s on-air programs.

Sta. Monica Elementary School principal Helen De Castro accepted the donation during the turnover ceremony and expressed her deepest gratitude to De La Salle batch ’81 for receiving the Gift of Knowledge package, which she told was “a dream of every school”.

A technical training session was also conducted by KCFI Access, School and Community Engagement Head Doris Nuval, so teachers would be able to effectively use and maximize this new education resource in their classes.

KCFI is continuously looking for sponsors and donors for the Gift of Knowledge package so more schools can enjoy the benefit of learning with multimedia. For interested donors, email liberty.reyes@knowledgechannel.org
