KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez (middle) receives Knowledge Channel’s award for its Outstanding Commitment to Child-Friendly Content Standards during the National Council for Children’s Television’s (NCCT) 27th Anniversary kickoff.

Last October 18, the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT) celebrated its 27th anniversary at the Heritage Hotel Manila by launching the Comprehensive Media Program for Children (CMPC) to ensure more informative and age-appropriate TV content for children. The new program was designed to unite content creators and stakeholders in a collaborative effort to promote and improve child-friendly media.

As part of the celebration, the NCCT also formally recognized the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and other partner organizations for their dedication to producing child-friendly content. Knowledge Channel earned the Outstanding Commitment to Child-Friendly Content Standards award, while its two shows, MathDali and Puno Ng Buhay, were honored for their Exemplary Adherence to Child-Friendly Content Standards.

“Aligned with NCCT’s mission, we are committed to producing quality, developmentally-appropriate television programs that help shape the minds and hearts of our young learners. Together, we strive to create a future where every Filipino child has access to enriching educational content that nurtures their potential and prepares them for a brighter future,” said Rina Lopez, KCFI President and Executive Director, in a brief message during the NCCT Awarding. “This recognition reflects our shared efforts—one that we dedicate to the teachers, parents, and children who inspire us every day.”

MathDali redefines early Math education through fun adventures and real-life applications, while Puno Ng Buhay educates grades 7–9 students about ecosystems, ecological principles, and conservation practices. The NCCT 27th anniversary celebration, along with the awarding ceremony and the CMPC launch, continues to pave the way for a more informed future for Filipino youth. With the combined efforts of various passionate organizations, transformative education empowers more and more children with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

KCFI attended the Child-friendly Media Huddle for an insightful session on appropriate advertising along with other media networks and invited guests.

KCFI also participated in the Child-friendly Media Huddle held during the AM session of the anniversary kickoff where content creators, several broadcasting networks, researchers, and advertisers were invited to discuss ways on promoting appropriate advertising for children in our media landscape. Knowledge Channel programs were also featured in the huddle, along with child-friendly programs from other networks.
