KCFI February Online Contest Goes Viral

Love is when we reach more and teach more!

Last February, Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) launched a Facebook campaign called Kilig with Knowledge Channel: Create Your Own Hugot Line Contest. This communication initiative aimed to reach out to young people to celebrate all kinds of relationships and to love knowledge and learning. The campaign ran from February 1 to February 14, 2017 in Knowledge Channel Facebook Page.

The mechanics for the contest involved netizens to create their own hugot line about a topic or lesson in school and comment it on the Knowledge Channel Facebook Page using the hashtag #KiligWithKnowledgeChannel. Five chosen entries were voted upon online via Facebook likes and reactions. The entry with the most votes won the contest.

The top five entries came from was Kimberly Gutierrez, Debbie Ann Longawis, Cristina Lucero, Cedric Tumlos and Bryan De Leon. The February campaign of Knowledge Channel concluded with Bryan De Leon as the winner, with his hugot β€œAno bang cell and meron ka at cell-yosong cell-yoso ako sayo?” as he gained 710 likes and reaction and 350 shares.

The 14-day campaign was a success in increasing the Knowledge Channel Facebook engagement rate, clicks and likes. The engagement rate gained a 66.5% increase and a total of 13,828 clicks were generated during the campaign period.
