KCTINN teacher training completed in 4 provinces

Knowledge Channel has completed 2 major teacher trainings in August through the sponsorship of Far Eastern University- Roosevelt and LBC Foundation in Marikina, Rizal, Northern Samar, and Quirino.

Through Knowledge Channel’s Teaching in the New Normal (KCTINN) 3-Day Training, teachers and principals were imparted with 21st Century strategies and pedagogies that are relevant to today’s distance learning set-up. It also included sessions on how to utilize and maximize the use of media and technology, particularly the Knowledge channel Portable Media Library, and how to effectively engage stakeholders.

160 teachers from the three campuses of Far Eastern University (FEU) – Roosevelt in Cainta and Rodriguez, Rizal and Marikina completed their training.

JC Ubaldo, one of the participants of KCTINN and OIC-head of FEU Roosevelt Cainta, shared that the KCTINN training will help him and the teachers meet their goals of improving the learning outcomes of their students. He also shared how end-of-session reflection was helpful during the training.

“Natutunan ko yung halaga ng reflection at the end session. Bilang isang teacher halaga na tinitignan natin at the end of the day naging successful  ba tayo sa naging accomplishment sa naging estudyante natin,” Ubaldo said in an interview.

More teachers were also trained from 8 schools in Northern Samar, 8 schools in Marawi City and 8 schools from Quirino Province under the sponsorship of LBC Foundation.

Teacher Rhea Alo, one of the participants from Northern Samar, appreciated the training she received, as well as the Portable Media Library from Knowledge Channel Foundation.

“Thank you so much knowledge Channel not only for the videos but also for the training na kinon-duct. The best na natutunan ko is about doon sa [kung paano] gamitin ang thinking maps. Pupwede mo gamitin yung thinking maps para makuha mo yung mga prior knowledge ng mga bata o maassist mo sila doon sa lesson,” Alo shared.

Prior to the training, Alo downloaded Knowledge Channel videos from the internet and saved it in a USB as she went house-to-house to teach kids in mountain communities.
