“Not just graduates, but beacons of hope,” shared Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) President and Executive Director, Ms. Rina Lopez, during the Knowledge Channel Volunteer and Internship Program (KCVIP) 2023 Graduation Ceremony held last September 26, 2023 at the Rockwell Business Center Ortigas.

As you stand on a new threshold of the future, we celebrate not just an end, but a new beginning - a beginning defined by the dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment of our 129 KCVIP interns and volunteers.

Ms. Rina Lopez

With the theme, “Together Towards Tomorrow: KCFI Interns and Volunteers Building Young Leaders Among Filipino Children,” KCFI held the graduation rites for the KCVIP Class of 2023 both onsite and online via Facebook Live on the KCFI Facebook page, recognizing all volunteers and interns regardless of where they are.

You are making a huge impact on the educational system. Sana, you carry the advocacy of Knowledge Channel - it is education that will bring people, our countrymen, out of the poverty they are in.

I really hope you take that advocacy with you.

— Ms. Doris Nuval

Ms. Rina Lopez attended the rites in-person, as well as Ms. Raissa C. Hechanova-Posadas, Treasurer of the KCFI Board of Trustees and Knowledge Officer of the Rotary Club of Makati Premier District; Ms. Doris Nuval, KCVIP founder and KCFI leader; Ms. Mercedes “Cedie” Lopez-Vargas, President of the Lopez Group Foundation, Chair of the Lopez Human Resources Council, and the graduation ceremony’s keynote speaker; Mr. Edric Calma, KCFI Vice President and Director of Operations; and, University of the Philippines Diliman instructor and UP Child Development Center teacher, Ms. Marian Michelle Adalem. Sharing their inspiring messages to the graduates virtually were Senator Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian, Chair of the Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts, and Culture, and Atty. Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, 14th Vice President of the Philippines and Chair and President of Angat Pinas, Inc.

The graduating class was composed of 99 interns and 24 volunteers from 27 partner schools and universities, officially proclaimed by Mr. Edric Calma. Afterwards, nearly 20 interns were recognized for their outstanding effort and dedication through the various Special Awards.

This program has instilled in us the value of continuous learning, emphasizing that we can be lifelong learners, committed to making a positive impact. Your unwavering support has made our transformation possible.

— Ms. Cristyl Tobongbanua

Then, former KCVIP Human Resources and Organizational Development intern and now KCFI Technical and Research Associate, Ms. Cristyl Tobongbanua, shared a message on behalf of the graduating class. The graduates’ oathtaking and induction into the Knowledge Channel Advocates and Supporters’ Club (KClub) was led by former KCVIP Resource Mobilization intern and current Resource Mobilization Associate, Ms. Rashmi Aira Gumandoy

Failure is never viewed as failure, unless you define it as such for yourself. Instead of getting us down, let it build you up and let it give you the confidence to believe in yourself and to live out the divine plan that God has in store for you. Never ever let your missteps keep you from living out your greatness.

— Ms. Cedie Lopez- Vargas
