Mas masaya magturo with Knowledge Channel!

As we celebrate National Teachers’ Month (NTM) from September 5 to October 5 and National Teachers’ Day (NTD) on October 5, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) continues to work “#Together4Teachers” - this year’s NTM/NTD theme and hashtag - developing new learning resources, providing access to Knowledge Channel videos to more schools, and training teachers nationwide!

Adding to its array of video lessons are 12 episodes of Puno ng Buhay, 5 episodes of Wow, and 2 episodes of Siklo ng Enerhiya. Puno ng Buhay, starring Maymay Entrata and Elijah Canlas, was developed with the Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP). It teaches key science concepts and promotes forest protection and conservation. Another series with the FFP that promotes nature protection and conservation, which also teaches appreciation of local culture, heritage, and people, is Wow. Hosted by KCFI Vice President and Gandingan Awards 2023 Best TV Program Host Edric Calma, this new Wow season focuses on Batanes, Rizal, Palawan, Leyte and Bukidnon. The new videos of Siklo ng Enerhiya, an animated series done in partnership with the Department of Energy, tackles energy, energy distribution, and the importance of a diverse and inclusive energy sector. These new episodes can be seen on Knowledge Channel’s on-air and online platforms.

KCFI continued to work with its partners this September, bringing transformative learning experiences to more schools and communities.

To further support our teachers, KCFI continues to roll out training programs on 21st century teaching and learning. It recently conducted trainings in twelve Quezon City public schools through EcoProject Year 3, a collaboration with Unilever-Breeze Philippines. It also provided Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries and trained recipients from three public schools in the Rizal province, done with the Sikat Solar Challenge Foundation.

Mentoring is also being done among child development centers which participated in KCFI’s Early Childhood Development training program in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, in partnership with the New Zealand Embassy, and in Lobo, Batangas, in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of District 3830.

KCFI’s ECD work and advocacy now extends to policy development levels, too. KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez is a member of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM2 ) sessions.

Donate to KCFI today so it can continue supporting children and educators everywhere through BPI Acct. No. 0201-0409-14. Please email a copy of your deposit slip to info@knowledgechannel.org for recording purposes.
