Forbes Park, Makati, June 15, 2017 – After a successful partnership with the Rotary Club of Paranaque and Rotary District 3830 for the 100 for 100 Project, Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) now teams up with the newly formed Rotary Club of Makati Premier District to bring multimedia learning to more public schools.
In a gala event held on May 30 at the Forbes Park Pavilion, KCFI signed a Memorandum of Agreement with RC Makati Premier to formalize its initiatives in education and health. The MOA was signed by Edric Calma, KCFI Director of Operations and Carol Ocampo Mercado, RC Makati Premier District Charter President.
Under this agreement, both organizations will work to develop relevant and effective educational video episodes especially in Beginning Literacy (Reading Comprehension in English) and Elementary Health Education, provide multi-media resources to public schools, and train teachers on effective learning strategies. The two organizations will also support the Philippine Cancer Society in awareness campaigns on cancer prevention, the importance of healthy living, and periodic screening for early cancer detection and treatment.
“Rotary is love for others as we cannot love without serving and we cannot serve without loving. Love for others is what Rotary is,” said Rafael “Paing” Hechanova, Sr., Past Director of Rotary International, who was the guest speaker during the event.
