Knowledge Channel Celebrates 23 Years in the Service of the Filipino Children

Founded on June 14, 1999, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. celebrates the 23rd broadcast anniversary of its flagship program, Knowledge Channel. On November 6, 1999, Knowledge Channel aired with the first-ever satellite TV broadcast of its curriculum-based shows. As the first and only on air, online, and offline media tandem in the country focusing on the basic education curriculum, KCFI strives to remain responsible stewards and co-creators of transformative learning experiences through media and technology in the service of the Filipino children.

Twenty-three years after, Knowledge Channel has come a long way from satellite broadcast now strategically on multiple platforms and focus. Upcoming new shows lined up for broadcast such as #ILY1000 hosted by actor Marlo Mortel and actress Mary Joy Apostol, Ready Set Read with Seth Dungca, AgriKids, Wikaharian 2 with Teacher Michelle Agas, Mathdali Grade 1 with celebrity host Robi Domingo, Puno ng Buhay with celebrity hosts MayMay Entrata and Elijah Canlas, Wow with Edric Calma, and Heroes of Zero.

Knowledge Channel’s 17-hr curriculum-aligned programming is available on cable, direct-to-home satellite and DTT, and online through iWantTFC. Video lessons are also available on-demand through KCFI’s official Facebook and Youtube pages. It is also on Kapamilya Channel every Sunday, 7 AM, and A2Z from Monday to Friday, 7 AM.

In celebrating their broadcast anniversary, KCFI conducted a countdown series of Knowledge on the Go (KOTG) Knowledge Channel Edition, an online quiz game featuring trivia and fun facts about the organization. KCh then premiered a special anniversary video featuring their partner teachers and celebrating their dedication to young Filipino learners' education.
