KCFI and Unilever-Breeze launch EcoProject Year 2 with 17,000-strong audience from SDO TAPAT

Building on the success of last year’s first-ever EcoProject: Kilos Kabataan para sa Kapaligiran in Marikina City, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and Breeze took their campaign for environmental awareness to a new batch of 17,000 students, teachers, and parents from the Schools Division Office of Taguig City and Pateros (SDO TAPAT) during its official virtual launch of EcoProject Year 2: Kilos Kabataan Para sa Kapaligiran last September 30, 2022, via Zoom, Youtube Live, and Facebook Live.

During the program, various speakers spoke to the youth about building eco-habits and becoming more environmentally conscious. Ms. Rina Lopez, President and Executive Director of KCFI, delivered the first message, followed by Ms. Lara Margaret Santos, Brand Manager for Breeze of Unilever Philippines. After an intermission number from Signal Village National High School, Ms. Angela Quililan, Sales - Finance Junior Manager of The Plastic Flamingo, and Engr. Reach Peñaflor, Spokesperson of the Green Party of the Philippines, individually shared their organizations’ unique stories and environmental advocacies with the youth of Taguig City and Pateros. Mr. Paul Serafica, Project Officer of KCFI, introduced the first mission of EcoProject Year 2, a plastic donation drive known as E-Collect. The program ended with a closing message from the Director of Operations of KCFI, Mr. Edric C. Calma.

Besides sharing knowledge on EcoProject and how to care more for our environment, KCFI and Breeze also gave away various prizes throughout the event. Participants joined Ms. Michelle Agas, host of Wikaharian and Wikaharian Online World, in four rounds of a Knowledge Channel trivia game called Knowledge On The Go. There were also a series of raffle draws. Sixty participants received minor prizes, and a grand prize winner received a washing machine with a laundry package from Breeze.

EcoProject Year 2 is a project from KCFI and Unilever-Breeze aimed to educate, engage, and empower Filipino grade school students to become creative, responsible, and environmentally-conscious stewards of our planet through different missions such as E-Collect, Eco-Garden, Eco-Planter, and Eco-Diary.
