Knowledge Channel debuts new program for parents and teachers featuring OVP’s Bayanihan E-skwela

In its continuing effort to support teachers, parents and learners during the pandemic, Knowledge Channel will air a new show titled “Parent-Teacher Activity Time” or PTA, which will present different video episodes to support teachers and parents as the school year shifts to distance learning, every Saturday and Sunday from 5:40 to 6:00 PM starting November 7.

For its premiere, Knowledge Channel will air Bayanihan E-skwela, a series of video episodes from the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines that aim to guide teachers and parents on how they can better support learners during the pandemic. Bayanihan E-skwela has over 20 episodes done in partnership with the University of the Philippines College of Education and various collaborators in the creative industry.

In a video message shared by Vice President Leni Robredo with Knowledge Channel Foundation, she emphasized that the purpose of the videos is to help parents and teachers adjust to the new normal, which includes distance learning. “Gabay ang mga ito sa ating teachers, parents at guardians kung paano tutulungan ang mga estudyante ngayong sa bahay na nagaganap ang pagkatuto. Masaya kami na ibahagi sa inyo ang videos na ito,” Robredo stated.

Knowledge Channel Foundation President Rina Lopez Bautista also stressed that PTA time will feature more relevant content for teachers and parents. “Hindi lang Bayanihan E-skwela ang inyong mapapanood sa PTA Time. Marami pa kaming nakahandang videos para mas maging masaya at madali ang pag-aaral sa bahay,” she assured.

Since August, Knowledge Channel has been airing video lessons for K-10, ALS, and pre-Kinder learners through its School at Home Campaign in support of the distance learning implementation of the Department of Education.

Knowledge Channel is available on SKYcable, PCTA cable partners and affiliates, GSAT, on A2Z from Mondays to Fridays 7 to 9 AM and soon on Cignal. Knowledge Channel is also available via livestream through the iWant TFC app. Its video lessons are also accessible for free online via knowledgechannel.org, YouTube, Just Love Kids, and DepEd Commons.
