MathDali is Back with New Episodes!
BY NINA SHERIZZE DE SAGUN
After a well-received crossover airing on ABS-CBN in 2017, Knowledge Channel’s MathDali is back this year with new episodes starting January 12!
Following the success of the show’s first season, the new episodes continue to tackle the most relevant and need-to-know math lessons and strategies aligned to the K to 12 Curriculum of the Department of Education. Topics include measuring perimeter, differentiating perimeter from area and identifying the area of irregular plane figures.
While the past season featured the fun adventures of Math enthusiast Robi Domingo and the MathDali barkada of Kuya Igi (Igi Boy Flores), Kuya Vic (Vic Robinson), and sister twins Ate Joj and Ate Jai (Jojand JaiAgpangan), the new episodes will shine the spotlight this time on the ever-curious and zany Kuya Igi and Goin’ Bulilit kids JB Agustin, Sofia Millares, and Lance Lucido.
Igi Boy Flores, who is mainly known for his friendly, comedic roles in Goin’ Bulilit and the Sunday teen-oriented show Luv U, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm in sharing the audience what he has learned. “Sa project na ‘to nakikita ko na ako mismo, natututo rin at in-explain ko sa kanila kung paano [ang gagawin] so excited ako na ipakita sa kanila na hindi isang solution lang para ma-solve mo ang isang problem, marami pang ibang paraan na mas madali at mas maiintindihan mo. Excited ako na ma-enjoy nila ang Math,” he said.

Inspired by the positive norms, key strategies and classroom approaches from Jo Boaler’s “Math Mindset” and “What’s Math Got to Do With It?” as well as the importance of number talks in Cathy Humphreys and Ruth Parker’s “Making Number Talks Matter”, each episode illustrates a Math concept through real-life situations that aims to positively change how to learn Math, develop conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem solving, allowing the students to learn in new ways, and make the learning experience both interesting and exciting.
Watch MathDali this Friday at 10:20 am, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Knowledge Channel and catch-up on previous episodes via Knowledge Channel on YouTube.
