USAID, RTI International, and KCFI Signs MOU for Partnership to Advance Education

By Prudence Caballero

To improve education for early grade learners, USAID Acting Mission Director Rebekah Eubanks, KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez, and ABC+ Chief of Party Ina Aquino signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas on March 10, 2023.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by DepEd officials led by Undersecretary Annalyn M. Sevilla, Assistant Secretary Alma Ruby Torio, Assistant Secretary G.H.S. Ambat, and Director Susana S. Santiago.

Under the partnership, Knowledge Channel will distribute the Advancing Basic Education or ABC+ Project's My TV School, a television-based instruction material, through their School Anywhere campaign via on-air and online for early grade learners co-developed by USAID and RTI International with the Department of Education.

USAID acknowledged its gratitude for KCFI’s partnership in this initiative, as it will help marginalized communities get a better education. On the other hand, KCFI acknowledged that this partnership will not only help each other’s organizational goals but also help the students and teachers. DepEd recognized that through these materials, the learners and teachers can be well-supported in pursuing quality education.
