Knowledge Channel Foundation and New Zealand Embassy ink partnership for Early Childhood Development project in Burgos, Ilocos Norte

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and the New Zealand Embassy entered into a partnership for Early Childhood Development (ECD) efforts in Burgos, Ilocos Norter through the New Zealand High Embassy Fund Grant (HEF). The ceremonial grant signing was held at the Rockwell Business Center Sheridan, Mandaluyong City, on March 23, 2023.

Under this partnership, KCFI will bring the in-person training program, Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP-ECD), to child development workers, teachers, health nutrition scholars, parents, and care providers in 11 barangays in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. Each barangay will also receive a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library containing video lessons and resources for children, parents, and care providers for offline access.

Following KCFI's principle of serving Filipino children, this collaboration will undoubtedly result in more children having access to KC's educational resources. This partnership will also allow KCFI to continue training stakeholders in the Child Development Centers and ensure that they are able to use these materials effectively.

The grant signing was led by Ambassador Peter Kell, New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines, and KCFI President and Executive Director Ms. Rina Lopez. The ceremony was witnessed by Ms. Dyan Rodriguez, Aid Manager for New Zealand Embassy Programme; Ilocos Norte Representative, Hon. Ma. Kathrina G. Saguiguit-Fulgar, Sangguniang Bayan Member, representing Mayor Crescente N. Garcia of Burgos, Ilocos Norte; and Director for Operations, Mr. Edric C. Calma.
