KCFI, ABS-CBN, and SKY host first Walk The Talk for 2019

REPOST FROM LOPEZLINK | February 21, 2019

Almost 500 employees of the Lopez Group plus their family members and friends started 2019 right by joining the Lopez HR Council-Lopez Lifelong Wellness Walk the Talk (WTT) at La Mesa Nature Reserve, Quezon City on January 26.

Registration started at around 6 a.m. As the participants arrived, they were given bananas and taho.

Sponsored by ABS-CBN, SKY and Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), the event started with KCFI’s Niña de Sagun delivering the invocation and SKY’s Gerry Tabios leading the recitation of the Lopez Credo and Values. SKY’s Dimpy Jazmines served as the morning’s emcee.

KCFI president and executive director Rina LopezBautista took the stand to deliver the welcome remarks. Lopez-Bautista’s talk, which was focused on keeping oneself healthy, was aligned with the Lopez Value of Employee Welfare and Wellness, the featured value for the WTT event.

Before trekking the six-kilometer forested trail, the participants took part in very lively adrenaline-pumping exercises courtesy of Gold’s Gym to prepare them for the long walk. This was followed by a safety briefing courtesy of Energy Development Corporation’s August Villalon.

Just like last year, aside from the usual walk routine, this specific event once again introduced a biking feature. Two trails were created to cater to two groups of participants—a six-kilometer trail for the walkers and more than 10 kilometers for the bikers.

As a continuous improvement of this wellness undertaking, host company-related giveaways were raffled off which generated more smiles from the participants.
