Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement and Memoranda of Understanding with the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) and Philippine Animation Studio, Inc. (PASI) at the Rockwell Business Center Sheridan Conference last February 7.

The said event was attended by KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez Bautista, Director of Operations Edric Calma, Transmedia Manager Christian Gaite, ACPI President Miguel del Rosario, Executive Director Rene Misa, Corporate Secretary Ricky Orellana, PASI Chairman Roger Cariño, and Studio Manager and Chief Operating Officer Jun Camerino.

Following the initial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing for Basa Bilang Project on November 16, 2018, KCFI collaborates with the mentioned Philippine animation companies in creating animated videos and e-modules for K-3 Beginning Reading, Literacy, and Numeracy based on the Department of Education K-12 Curriculum.

PASI’s Mr. Camerino tells KCFI that this partnership serves as an opportunity for Filipino artists to contribute their special skills in the service of the Filipino kids.

“We have been providing animation services to North America and European studios and, in a number of instances, we co-produced with them animated films, all for the international market.Partnering with Knowledge Channel to develop educational products to Filipinos brings a different excitement to PASI all-Filipino management and artists,” said Mr Camerino.

On the same event, KCFI has also formalized its partnership with ACPI on Animahenasyon, an annual animation festival and competition that features the animated works of veteran and novice Filipino animators. KCFI has agreed to broadcast the winning videos of the 2016-2018 Animahenasyon Competition.

Video production for Basa Bilang Project Grade 1 Filipino reading has started in the 1st week of February while the airing of Animahenasyon winning videos are set to start by the end of February.
