In celebrating 10 years of collaborating for education, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and Board of Trustees Chairman, Oscar M. Lopez, both received an award from Bayan Academy last February 12, 2019, at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
Bayan Academy is a social development organization established in 2008 that offers entrepreneurship, management, livelihood, and education training programs and services for various institutions including small and micro enterprises.
For the past decade, KCFI and Bayan Academy have been working closely on projects that help uplift the quality of education in the Philippines. Some of these include the development of video programs like Kada Tropa and Ibang Klase for Out-of-School and Mature Learners (OML), research and evaluation studies on the impact of Knowledge Channel’s learning materials, and recognition of exemplary educational practices, groups, and individuals through the Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards (EETA).
Bayan Academy Chairman and President, Dr. Eduardo Morato, Jr. formally presented the awards to KCFI President and Executive Director, Rina Lopez Bautista. She also received the special award for her father, Oscar M. Lopez, for helping Bayan Academy establish itself successfully by providing the seed fund for the organization.
