Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and the Department of Energy (DOE) has officially forged their partnership in developing educational materials for Filipino children during the official launch of the animation video “Siklo ng Enerhiya” last December 5, 2018 in Taguig City.

With more than 30 children from the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) in attendance, the 5-minute animation video featured a vignette of a little girl who dreams to be an electrical engineer someday and in the process, learns about the source of electrical energy. The video was brought to life by Knowledge Channel’s team of talented animators and interns while DOE funded the production.

In a speech by KCFI President and Executive Director, Rina Lopez Bautista, she acknowledged DOE as an ideal partner in developing educational multimedia resources. “DOE has been proactive in promoting awareness in energy fundamentals and gender and development by educating young minds through media and technology. That is why DOE and Knowledge Channel are ideal partners because together we are stewards and co-creators of transformative learning experiences that will educate children on the importance and value of energy.”

At the closing of the event, a pledge of commitment was signed by Bautista, Assistant Secretary Robert Uy of DOE and GSP National President Susan R. Locsin.
