KCFI and Unilever bring ‘Confidently U’ to 54 public schools

More than 200,000 public high school students have been educated on how to develop inner confidence through proper self-care thanks to the Confidently U workshop series of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and Unilever. Held from October 3 to November 21, 2018, the recently concluded project was able to reach 54 public high schools in Caloocan, Quezon City, Pasig, Marikina, Muntinlupa, and Rizal.
Hair, body, and face care
The Confidently U workshop aimed to guide teenagers on how to properly cope with the physical changes they experience during puberty and develop the confidence they need in school. Based on the MAPEH curriculum of the Department of Education, five animated videos were developed by Knowledge Channel to show teens how they can address problems like pimples, body odor, and frizzy hair through the correct use of hair, face and body care products.
Mini-games were conducted after each video screening to make sure students have recalled the tips shown in the videos. To cap-off the program, self-assured teens were invited to participate in the Confidently U mini-pageant where they showcased their talent, charisma, and wit. Winners received special gift packs from Pond’s, Rexona, and Cream Slik while participants were all given sample products to help them practice the tips they learned in the videos.

Before we used to call it Teen Week, now we’re launching it as Confidently U,” he said. Sunico also mentioned the Misis Walastik project, another collaboration between KCFi and Unilever in helping reduce the sachet waste.
Dr. Torrecampo of DepEd Marikina also expressed his gratitude to both Knowledge Channel and Unilever. “Dahil dito sa partnership na ito, malaking tulong ito sa amin sa DepEd at lalo pang pagpalain ang inyong organisasyon na marami pang mabahaginan na eskwelahan at division sa NCR at all over the Philippines…Nasa right track ang pagpartner ng Knowledge Channel at Unilever para makatulong sa lahat,” he said.
