KCFI and Insular Launch New Estudyantipid Episodes

It was an absolute moment of thrill and excitement for the students of Makati High School when their idols Jairus Aquino and Sharlene San Pedro showed up for the launch of two new episodes of Estudyantipid last July 4, 2018. The financial literacy show, now on its third and ongoing season, is a partnership between Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and Insular Foundation. The teen couple play lead characters Jordan and Marla, who encounter different financial situations.

Selected Grade 9 students of Makati High School participated in the episode launch where they got to watch the episodes before its maiden broadcast on July 26. They were also entertained live by Jairus and Sharlene before capping off the event with a simple recognition ceremony. KCFI was represented by Edric Calma, Director for Operations while Insular Foundation was represented by Ana Maria Soriano, Senior Assistant Vice President and Public Relations Head. Representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd) also graced the event: School Governance and Operations Divisions Chief Claudio Rojo and Schools Division Supervisor in Araling Panlipunan, Michael Mercado.

The two new Estudyantipid episodes focus on essential finance literacy topics discussed in schools today. The first episode “Karapatan at Tungkulin ng Isang Mamimili,” is a practical discussion on how to spend and budget money wisely by knowing your consumer rights. With the help of Estudyantipid characters Marla and Jordan, they reveal seven tips on how to become wise buyers in purchasing their school supplies.

The second episode “Pamumuhunan Para sa Ekonomiya,” focuses on the importance of investing in an insurance policy. Marla and Jordan is coached by their new friend Lebron on how an insurance can be beneficial for the family and for one’s own future.

The new Estudyantipid episodes will air beginning July 26 at 4:30 pm only on Knowledge Channel.

Knowledge Channel is available on ABS-CBN TV Plus, Sky Cable, Sky Direct and other partner cable operators nationwide.
