Last January 29, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) formalized its partnership with STEAM Craft Education Ltd., a team composed of specialists and practitioners in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), through a Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony at Rockwell Business Center Sheridan in Mandaluyong City.
KCFI and STEAM Craft agreed to work together on a program for the effective adaptation and utilization of “Planeteers”, a 3D educational game that teaches STEAM concepts, employs problem solving and inquiry-based learning, and encourages critical thinking. With the game, both parties aspire to increase students’ interest in STEAM and hopefully motivate them to take up fields related to such.
“We feel [it is] the beginning of great things, and we look forward to next steps on the school pilot and outcomes study, and additionally working together on funding pitches for current KC initiatives via Australian government and other channels,” said STEAM Craft CEO and Executive Producer Phil Mason.
The event was graced by KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez Bautista and STEAM Craft Education Ltd. CEO and Executive Producer Phil Mason. Also present during the event were STEAM Craft Product and Operations Manager Miguel Cordero, Schools Account Manager Edah Marie Dubrea, and KCFI Director of Operations Edric Calma.
KCFI and STEAM Craft, through this partnership, hope to create more relevant and engaging 21st Century learning experiences through game-based learning.
