More Sultan Kudarat Teachers Trained on LEEP

Knowledge Channel Foundation’s teacher training program called LEEP or Learning Effectively through Enhanced Pedagogies has concluded its fifth run in the southern province last June 28 to 30.

Sponsored by the Department of Education(DepEd) Division Office of Sultan Kudarat, the three-day training program was attended by more than 120 principals and teachers from around the province. The event was held at the FB Hotel in Koronadal, South Cotobato.

The event was filled with joy, fulfilment, and gratitude as the teachers learned how to adapt their way of teaching for 21st Century learning. Some encouraging comments written on the freedom wall included:

“Today the session was full of joy, full of life and education. Constructivism at its finest.”

“Ang naisip ko at naramdaman, ay ang kanya-kanyang teacher ay may kanya-kanyang pamamaraan, at dahil sa constructivism namulat ang mata ko bilang isang guro na ang mga bata ay matututo pa lalo kung kanila itong maisasagawa sa loob ng silid aralan.”

(“I realized that students who have different intelligence make teachers challenged but with that we are also inspired to better ourselves within each day. This training gave us that opening of the eye to be better for our nation and for our learners.”)

Developed by former DepEd Secretary Dr. Fe Hidalgo in 2013, LEEP has trained more than 3,000 teachers in over 900 schools nationwide.
