700 Teachers Receive KCPML Technical Training this March
Over 700 teachers and principals from all around the country have undergone a technical training on the Utilization of Knowledge Channel’s Portable Media Library via virtual sessions held last March 18, 19, and 23. The training aims to and guide the teachers on how to utilize and maximize the use of video within the context of distance learning.
“Face-to-face man or virtual, patuloy tayong magsasama-sama sa pamamagitan ng mga Knowledge Channel video lessons. Para bukas makalawa, excited kayong lahat na babalik sa inyong pangalawang tahanan, ang mga klase o classroom, nang mas masaya, mas magaling, at mas handa,” said Ms.Rina Lopez, President and Executive Director of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc., in one of her opening messages during the training.
The Schools Division of Candon City sponsored 108 participants to attend the training last March 18 which was attended by Schools Division Superintendent, Anselmo R. Aludino.
Metrobank Foundation’s Purple Hearts Club sponsored 118 teachers from 20 schools nationwide on the March 19 training session which was attended by Department of Education represented by Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary Usec. Tonisito M.C. Umali and DepEd Region 8 Director Ms. Gemma Ledesma.
The Local Government Unit of Guimaras sponsored over 500 educators in their locality to attend the March 23 training which was attended by DepEd Region 6 Director, Dr. Ramir B. Uytico, CESO IV and Guimaras Provincial Governor, Hon. Samuel T. Gumarin.
Present during all sessions were Knowledge Channel’s President and Executive Director, Ms. Rina Lopez, Operations Director, Edric Calma, and Head for Access, School, and Community Engagement, Ms. Doris Nuval.
“Education must continue amidst calamities and disasters. Not even this pandemic can stop us. We will not stop partnering with KCFI because we believe that they too have the heart in serving the Filipino children.”, Candon City Schools Division Superintendent shared during the training.
Maybel Igbacol of Liningwan Central School shared how the Portable Media Libraries are of help to their teaching specially in these times of pandemic. “Knowledge Channel video lessons encourage learners, parents, and teachers to love reading and improve their performances. It also enhances their skills and knowledge and is useful to us in this time of Pandemic.”
The Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) is a multimedia learning tool stored with more than 2,000 video lessons that are aligned with Department of Education’s K-12 curriculum and can be used on almost any gadget with standard USB-A plug inputs.
