KCFI and Subic EnerZone Corporation bring Knowledge Channel to Special Education Center for the Gifted (SPED-G)
On September 29, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) and Subic Enerzone Corporation turned over a Knowledge TV and a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML) to the Special Education Center for the Gifted (SPED-G) in East Kalayaan, Olongapo City.
Present to share their messages for the turnover ceremony were the principal of SPED-G, Ms. Filomena Pascual; the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of the Schools Division Office of Olongapo City, SDS Leilani Samson Cunanan; the Resource Mobilization Manager of KCFI, Ms. Liberty Reyes; and, the Assistant Vice President and General Manager of Subic EnerZone Corporation, Engr. Warell Kern B. Sario. Besides the teachers of SPED-G, also in attendance were Mr. Jeff Figuerrez, the Supervisor of Reputation Enhancement of Subic EnerZone Corporation; the School Parent-Teacher Association President, Ms. April Interino; and, the Supreme Pupil Government President, Ms. Maxxi Escalona, as well as Mr. Christian Gaite (Manager for Transmedia), Ms. Daizelle Angadol (Marketing and Communications Specialist), and Ms. Aira Gumandoy (Resource Mobilization) of KCFI. After the ceremony, the teachers attended the technical training for the Knowledge TV and KC PML, led by Mr. Gaite.
Because of the generosity of Subic EnerZone Corporation, one of the five privately-owned distribution utilities under the EnerZone Group of Aboitiz Power that operates the distribution systems of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, SPED-G now has a KC PML – which is an external hard drive loaded with more than 1,500 Department of Education-aligned, curriculum-based video lessons, e-modules, e-session guides, and other related materials – and a Knowledge TV, a 43” smart TV with a built-in Knowledge Channel app.
